Superhero Fanatics- Tiz the Season for Superhero Movies

Winners

I must say I am a closet superheroes fan that likes all things superheroes from movies, TV series, video games and yes old comics books and web-based comics. So this year all you superhero fans, we are in for a treat.

The comic book superheroes movie genre seems to be riding a wave of success over the last decade. The evidence of the superhero’s movie boom, lies in the blockbuster profits (see the data, graphs for movie business, and sales charts of the box office) and is it no surprise that this is a big year for fans of comic book to film adaptations of such heroes to have a wide  gamut to choose from. It’s the year to watch your favorite guy/gal in capes, tights /costumes/masks whether it be a crime fighting law-abiding or unstoppable rebels, whether new or classics heroes.

Is this a new trend of the 21st century due to the advances in technology in special effects or is it like the need for heroes in the current culture of our society. Does it embody the ideals of honor, heroism, patriotism, and the good guy making sacrifices, protecting the rights of the under-served? Choosing altruism over the pursuit of wealth and power. What are your thoughts on this?

Watch the video by Mike Rugnette, Why Are There So Many Super Hero Movies? | Idea Channel | PBS Digital Studios that explores why there are so many superhero films right now.

Is it because of the streaming TV series and original made for TV such as Netflix’s/HBO’s/Amazon’s competing for profits against the cinema ticket sales? Whatever the reason superhero movies are a safe bet –the most bang for your buck in entertainment and yes simply “cool”, “bad-ass”, entertaining and fun to watch. All for one, and one for all superhero fans.

Whatever the reasons I hope you watch all your superheroes on the Big Screen this 2016 (Superhero movies for 2016 below);
